Yasmeen Hussein Galal

Yasmeen Galal’s early body of work began with focus on identity and self-emotions appeared in a series of a sketch book like a study-based practice, but soon developed toward various forms of experimental art, including social experiments of the violence of the nation states and the impact of the presidential speeches on citizens using so simple, yet so powerful mediums like Radios. She also has readings list of Michel Foucault like discipline and punish and the history of sexuality. On the other hand, sketching and photography the trees that are disciplined, trimmed and pruned. Yasmeen participated in a poetic performance reciting Cavafy work at Cavafy Museum which was curated by MASS Alexandria with the artist Laima Kreivyte, also participated in a collaborative artistic performance which was called Al-Mandara with several artists, including Kuwaiti artist Alia Farid.
