Jan 2013 - Dec 2015 -2 yrs, 11 months
- Job Details:1- I managed 16 inspiring, crazy SM, PR, Design, and DevOps team members. 2- Community/Business Development: In 2008, I was looking to attend Linux training and found out the only options were as costly as 1500$ so I had to learn alone. After working as an IT in different companies I realized there was a huge need for professionals that could administrate Linux servers, the problem was that they had nowhere to train, so I decided to do it myself. In 2013, I decided to quit my job at the Egyptian Public Prosecution, bought a bike, and cycled across 2500 km to teach coding to young students in remote communities, spark innovation, and build open source communities that could empower them to develop their own destiny. The idea of traveling and building a community came when I wanted to migrate the closed systems of factories to open source but the thing is I had to build a huge open source community first. I decided to launch programs to train 2000+ university students in two trips for 5 months across 20 Egyptian cities, from Alexandria to Aswan in universities, training centers, and community centers. After building the community, retaining it was the "most important", unignorable factor; I used the CRM techniques to make it bigger, and connected the students whom we had taught with open source companies. Open It collaborated with UNDP, ICT and the UNV to support the launching of the SDGs by implementing the Open Code for Sustainable Development Camp as a part of the global network of the Social Good Summit'15. These programs were covered by several media outlets such as ONtv, AlMasry AlYoum, Nogoum FM, CairoScene, Shorouknews, AlAhramnews. 3- To migrate the closed systems of factories and institutions to open source software I established a new Company/Community for Open Source migration purposes, design migration plans for Servers and Business Solutions. 4- Coordinated deals with IBM, MCIT, ITI, UNV, RiseUP.
