Sarah Wael Abbas

Due to my obsession with perfectionism, I have always set excessively high performance standards. Thus, I first managed to be one of the top 10 tennis players in Egypt. Later, when entering college, my success was portrayed in achieving a 4.0 GPA and being a class topper. Although during my first semester I experienced some difficulty getting along with the curriculum, the first time I opened my student portal to know my grades, I was startled when seeing 6 A+ on a row! I won't deny indeed that I was nicknamed “nerdy”. Be that as it may, I would only stop dreaming when I don't have to introduce myself any more, proving to myself that I have a lot to offer yet a lot to learn. Eventually, my latest achievement was delineated in successfully finishing my first documentary, receiving comments as “professional photography”, “controversial issue” and “real characters”. I came to the realization that cinematography makes me feel alive through reflecting the lives of others.
