    • Job Details:Duty Summary : Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer, the Resident Engineer is to assist in the supervision, monitoring and managing the Contractor including their compliance with the conditions of the contract Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: The main responsibilities are to make sure that work is carried out to the Project Works Authority’s (PWA) standards, specification, and schedule and the Contractor complies with his contractual duties. The Resident Engineer will assist the Senior Resident Engineer in the supervision of the Project Works; is expected to perform the following: • Assist the Senior Resident Engineer in performing the assigned duties in the conditions of contract for the Works; • Assist the Senior Resident Engineer in the management and direction of a team of Site Engineers and Works Inspectors for the supervision and monitoring compliance and execution of the Works; • Assists the Senior Resident Engineer in reporting on progress, safety, finance, quality, delay, and changes; • Build a trusted relationship with the Project Management Consultant staff; • Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the Contractor; • Assists the Senior Resident Engineer in monitoring progress of construction against the program, and takes steps to ensure the program is achieved; • Responds to the Contractor’s technical queries; • Ensuring that the Site Engineers are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and that the objectives of the PWA are achieved; • Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy, and services represent the PWA’s best interests; and that the construction work is in keeping with current legislation, standards, and Codes of Practice; • Ensuring that the Contractor liaises with the Utility authorities, for the relocation of utilities and/or other authorities, contractors, or consultants who interface with the project; • Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the supervision works and monitors it for improvement; • Evaluates selects, and adapts construction management and control techniques, procedures and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered; and, •Ensures that the construction Supervision teams members effectively identify manage and report project risks, related to all subcontractor works, same like: -Pipe Laying Subcontractors 600mm to 1200 DI pipes for TSE Chambers, pressure and deflection tests - Micro-tunneling across Alshamal Road 2Nos. each 240 Lm one 600mm and one 800mm DI Pipe with concrete encasement, driving receiving pits, monitoring while excavation and grouting. - HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) for ITS works, Ooredoo QAF Diameters ranges from 110mm to 160mm total lengths 2750 Lm. - Review the submittal issues as requested by QCS 2014 Section 8 Part 9 Trenchless Pipeline Construction Page 3 same like: (a) Structural design calculations for the trenchless pipeline and temporary works (b) Shop drawings. (c) Materials specifications. (d) Method statements which shall include. - Experience of specialist subcontractor and prequalification. - Detailed procedure for the works - List of all construction plants and tools - Preconstruction activities (geotechnical investigations including test pits) and survey works - Safety procedures - Handling and fixing of the inner pipe in the case of pipe jacking with larger diameter pipes. - Programme of work (e) Designs of thrust and reception shafts and detailed drawings. (f) Dewatering arrangements and disposal of groundwater (g) Methods for dealing with different ground conditions (h) Equipment layout at the thrust and reception shafts. (i) Details of slaving system. (j) Ventilation. (k) Lighting and communications. (l) Disposal of surplus excavated material Finally review of Materials and their compliances with aspects. We have to be ensuring that the Contractor shall not procure materials or begin construction of the Works until we have approved all submittals. And the approval shall not relieve the Contractor of his obligations under the Contract. Monitoring of works by daily reports and checking Levels, alignment, natural ground, or paved areas if any changes happened related to the original situation. • Resident Engineers liaise closely with the Contractor's staff.
