  • Head of Operations and Sustainable Strategy Team LeaderFull Time

    Sastemni Educational Services

    Jan 2020 - Oct 2020 -9 months

    Egypt , Cairo

    • Job Details:Sastemni is a start-up educational services company where I worked with the co-founders since the very early stages of business. My main duty was managing daily business operations and their outcomes and impact through a variety of tasks including planning, scheduling, and attending calls/meetings/events. Some work was done online due to COVID- 19. I was responsible, with the help of a very impressive multi-cultural team, for creating and maintaining a sustainable business strategy for the company. We worked closely in a diverse, team-based environment. We took a holistic ‘system thinking’ approach and were able to educate the stakeholders on basic socio-economic principles and the importance of sustainable development in achieving a strategy that benefits the business on both the short and the long term. I was also responsible for managing the operations budget. This was a very challenging task due to COVID-19. We had to adapt by massively cutting down costs while keeping competitive prices and adding more value to our customers for the business to survive. My colleagues and I were able to achieve a satisfactory rise in our financial KPIs (Revenue Growth Rate and Net profit) during the second quarter of 2020. We were also able to maintain a strong relationship with our mentors back in England (mostly our university professors). They helped us massively in having an overseas office based in the UK and in closing deals with universities and high-profile professionals from all over Europe. We worked with Ministries and Embassies to ensure legal procedures were strictly followed throughout all of our services. Occasionally, I was responsible for a number of daily counselling sessions guiding high school and university students about travelling and studying abroad.
