    • Job Details:- Working closely with team members setting up a modern analytical laboratory to meet current Environmental challenges and to provide effective solutions to support business and quality objectives. These Challenges develops my skills and knowledge in many fields. Some of activities and duties I have, such as, not limited to; - Searching for the right scope that fills the gaps in analytical market in Egypt gives me a board technical knowledge about different scopes, local regulations, and international regulations. - Reading variant standard methods in more than one scope like drinking water, waste water, solid waste, pesticides in food, air quality and pollution, and Food Contact Materials. - After choosing the scope we discussed testing needs in detail to understand which method is required (Identify the required methods). After the method has been determined, we make a list of all of the correct instrumentation, equipment, supplies and vendors without exceeding the budget. Getting at least three quotes for everything to assess the cost and “value” of investments. - We have finalized the specs of all needed equipment based on the scope of the center, discussions with vendors, visits to different labs, extensive study of standard methods and consulting several experts. We have contacted both ministry of industry and ministry of Military Production to check if this equipment are manufactured locally or not. - A tender has been placed for direct purchase of some equipment with estimated price of the total equipment offered was 900,000 Egyptian Pounds. Companies have submitted their technical and financial offers. We reviewed all offers and giving points on accepted specifications. Making supply orders. The Equipment have been delivered to the center, installed and tested. a- Drying oven b- Muffle furnace c- Hot plate with magnetic stirrer d- Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) e- Reverse Osmosis purification system capacity of 5 m3/day - Another tender has been placed for purchase of some equipment through importing from the original manufacturer to save around 20% of the total cost (taxes and mark up of the local agent) with estimated price of the total equipment offered was 5,000,000 Egyptian Pounds. Companies have submitted their technical and financial offers. Currently. We reviewed all offers that have been submitted. a- Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) b- Microwave Digestion System c- UV-VIS Spectrophotometer d- Ultra purification water system (produce water of Type 1 and Type 2) - Professional specifications of another equipment have been written for future purchase a- Multi-parameter (PH, Cond., TDS) analysis device with electrodes b- Water bath c- Orbital and Reciprocal shaker d- Vortex mixer e- Lab refrigerator and freezer - Currently, the quotations are being reviewed and compared technically and financially for purchase order for these equipment a- Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MSMS) b- Atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization tandem mass spectrometry (APGC/MS/MS) c- CHNSO analysis system d- Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter e- Ion Chromatography f- Total Organic Carbon (TOC) g- Total Keldjal Nitrogen (TKN) h- Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) i- Automated Soxhlet Extraction j- Rotary Evaporator - Broad experience and knowledge in analytical instrumentation techniques in sampling and sample preservation of air pollution such as Iso-Kinitik and non Iso-Kinitik sampling systems, High-Volume sampler, Low-Volume sampler, Tenax GC-adsorption device, Canister sampler and Thermal Desorption Systems. - Making a supply order of needed chemicals, standards, consumables, glassware and apparatus from standard methods of the chosen scope. - Broad experience and knowledge in analytical instrumentation techniques, including GC, GC-MS, Headspace GC- MS, LC-UV, LC-MS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, TKN, BOD and COD and well-versed in their theory and operation. - Evaluating the existing physical aspects such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electricity supply, plumbing and the building infrastructure. And planning to be done carefully. - Creating Conceptual drawings indicating the eventual locations of everything from water and utility lines and power supply to instruments. Allow to go smoothly and efficiently and without large amounts of disruption. - Considering Items such as working space that will be necessary to ensure the full complement of staff can work efficiently and comfortably and the location of lab benches and fume hoods. - Define exactly what analytical services will be provided by the laboratory to plan properly for the instrumentation, space and computer systems needed to support those services. - Handling security documents and ensuring that all information and data collected in the
