Work Experience

  • Assistant ProfessorFull Time

    Wentworth Institute of Technology

    Aug 2017 - Present -7 yrs, 11 months

    • Research Engineer and PhD candidateFull Time

      Western University

      Sep 2012 - Apr 2017 -4 yrs, 7 months

      • Job Details:• Developed ultrasound imaging software using C++. The software implemented a random hopping sequence for firing plane-wave ultrasound pulses from multiple transmit angles. The software also controlled the data acquisition and storage. The acquired data was then processed for beamforming, filtering, Doppler signal processing, and velocity estimation. • Invented a method (patented) for Doppler ultrasound imaging that used spread-spectrum to simultaneously enable high image resolution, high frame-rate, and high unaliased flow velocity measurements. I then developed clutter filters tailored specifically to support the invented method.
    • Principal Software EngineerFull Time

      Autoliv

      Mar 2002 - Aug 2012 -10 yrs, 5 months

      • Job Details:• Principal software engineer in 5 different products from concept to volume production. • Lead and developed signal processing algorithms (resampling, median filters, noise estimation, CORDIC, I/Q rebalancing and FIR filters), control state machines, data acquisition, boot routines, diagnostics and calibration, all using C. • Developed a utility program for evaluating radar performance. The program communicated with the radar and a CAN-controlled moving object, and was implemented using Microsoft Visual C++. • Lead and developed various FPGA firmware implementing radar timing signals, and digital signal processing algorithms. The designs used Xilinx, Altera and Lattice FPGAs and were written in Verilog. I lead the development of the verification suite which used the ModelSim simulator in conjunction with code written in C (using PLI) and C++ (using System C).
    • Principal EngineerFull Time

      Lucent Technologies

      Oct 2000 - Mar 2002 -1 yr, 5 months

      • Job Details:• Maintained, modified and developed software for the quality-of-service scheduler (on a TI DSP) for Lucent’s next generation core switch/router. • Successfully debugged and brought up various line interface cards. This included extensive FPGA firmware redesign.
