- Job Details:Worked as a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Bab Team; the main responsibility was to work on Reservoir Management for better development of reserves; Also worked on the Reservoir Studies to establish Full Field Development Plans. We had enhanced our Simulation Model for better reservoir characterization through Data Gathering e.g. Well Tests, Well Logs, Cores, etc. Key Achievements: Field Development Plan of Bab Thamama H Reservoir: (Tight Reservoir, OIP: 450 MM STB) Worked on Project Management from Concept Identification >> Option Selection >>Conceptual Design>> FEED >> EPC. The reservoir is being developed on WI Scheme with 58 pairs of producer/injector (116 wells) on Direct Line Pattern parallel to Structural Contours & Fluid Contacts Recompletion of Inactive Wells: managed a project to reactivate idle wells by recompletion from depleted reservoir (Thamama C) to a shallower reservoir (Thamama B). This project saved the cost of drilling 5 new wells. Backlog Surveys: Managed a project to analyze over 300 backlog PBU/PFO surveys. It saved for the Company USD 600,000 that was planned to be done by a service company. Real Time Digital/Blue Field: contributed to FDIS “Field Data Integration System” and Shell Realtime Monitoring “Production Universe” Reservoir Performance Review by Area: studied the performance of more than 500 wells in Th-B Reservoir which has over 200 active producers and 300 active injectors (OIP:15 b.STB & EUR: 40%) SWM for Permeability Multiplier: was a project champion to get K-multiplier from 30 PBU tests UBD: Selecting candidates for underbalanced drilling. Follow-up UBD work program/execution with drilling engineers & Weatherford. Evaluating UBD wells (drilling operation & post-production appraisal). Work on Saphir and Pansystem for Pressure Transient Analysis of PBU & PFO (QC, analyzed & reported the results) Gather all related data (Pressure Raw Data/ Production History/ Well, Reservoir & Fluid parameters such as core permeability, OHL porosity, Sw, Formation Tops, Perforated Intervals, Deviation Survey, PVT) Match the derivative & response curves with the best representative models (wellbore/ well/ reservoir/ boundary) Uncertainty Analysis through different scenarios/cases to test the sensitivity to different parameters Work with Geomodeller during upscaling & population of K /Φ and confirm not to lose any resolution Work with Petrophysicist to construct J-Function for each Reservoir Rock Type (8 RRT) and review Pc vs Sw and RFT to identify FWL Discuss with Geoscientists the possible locations of boundaries modeled in PTA, and update them with the interpretation results of permeability and faults for enhancing the Geologic Model Run and update Full Field Simulation Model using Eclipse /Nexus-VIP to predict the performance of Wells & Reservoir. Recommended development of new wells, side-tracking & horizontalization of some existing wells. Performed prediction runs of FFM for Business Plan. IOR/EOR Special Studies: to design WAG Pilot under different injection schemes (LG, RG, CO2) Work with Geoscientists to optimize target locations of new/ planned wells in terms of Sw, Phi/K, net payzone, nearby producers/injectors, faults Follow up the daily operations report of oil, gas, and water to take immediate action for critical situations (Fish-in-hole, LOC, mud return) Provide reservoir engineering input to trouble-shoot idle wells and formulate action plans especially in high water cut wells. Based on PLT results, wells were investigated & recommended for WSO by ICD/Packers Production Enhancement: Debottlenecking/ N2 Unloading/ Booster Pump/ Perf/RePerf /Stimulation/WSO Use OFM, Finder, Business Object to monitor well & reservoir performance (Rates, Ratios, Pressures) and find candidates for work over. Using OFM to select candidates that meet certain criteria/queries. Involved in the work team for generating Prosper well models and nodal analysis to study the effect of high back-pressure on well performance. Some wells ceased to flow as a result of low WHP and succeeded to restore their production by de-bottlenecking & redesigning of surface facilities. Also used Prosper to predict the flow rate of new wells Optimize & Manage WI for better sweep & Monitor using Time-Lapse logs, VRR, Hall Plots, Water Tracer Review well performance on FlowMonitor (Shell Real-Time Well Monitoring & Surveillance): to reduce downtime (deferred production) and to forecast performance (DCA) Participate in Daily Operations Meetings, Weekly Team Meetings, and Monthly Coordinating Meetings, and Peer Reviews with Shareholders Coach & Mentor Junior Staff in their work for career development to ensure knowledge sharing & technology transfer
