Shipping AssistantFull Time

• Job Details: Responsible for the import and export logistics of air and sea shipments for general cargo, vehicles and household goods shipments.  Prepare the import and export documentation required for customs clearance.  Identify suppliers and place purchase orders for required commodities meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery dates.  Communicate with the Governmental authorities or Ministries to obtain necessary approvals for importing or exporting of goods.  Plan, manage and evaluate the logistics operations liaising with logistics providers and transportation companies.  Responsible for the warehousing inventory and transportation of goods.  Follow up on all customs clearance procedures with customs brokers until shipment is released.  Monitor and Oversees the distribution and transportation of goods from the storage facilities till the shipping ports to ensure the safety regulations.  Supervise the packing of goods to ensure safety for shipping or transportation.  Communicate with various freight forwarders to obtain the best freight and transportation service with the best price.  Audit the packing contractor’s facilities and warehouses to ensure proper compliance with the packing and safety procedures.  Plan and implement improvements for internal and external logistics procedures.  Supervise the loading and unloading of containers or trucks and ensure applying safety procedures.  Keep track of quantity, stock levels, delivery schedules, transportation cost and efficiency.  Provide accurate and detailed shipping instructions to carriers.  Work with services providers to improve all aspects of service and cost.  Arrange the Embassy’s VIP visits procedures and documentation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and requesting access through the VIP lounge at the airport.
