• Job Details:Metallurgy Operations ➢ Starting the mill after shutdown: from valves &pumps operation, CV belts, Cooling fans, SAG& ball mill barring and feeder unchoking. ➢ Free cyanide & lime monitoring: involving the titration process using silver nitrate and oxalic acid, aided by phenolphthalein and potassium iodide indicators. ➢ CIP work: tank isolation for loading, Acid Wash and Elution Treatments. Carbon Sizing and Regeneration. ➢ Monitoring of Launder residues to ensure that Environmental Standards are met and to ensure minimal gold loss from the circuit. ➢ Sampling of Leach and Carbon Profiles, Low Grade (C.I.P feed, Launder and Final Residues) samples and High Grade (Leach Feed 1 & 2 and Cyclone underflow) samples, along with Bulk Bin Sampling. ➢ The determination of the gold content in carbon by using an X-ray diffraction machine. Compiling daily Carbon profiles, free CN and WAD Cyanide reports. ➢ Monitoring the on-going TSF Project (Re-mining of the Slime Dam) to ensure that any residual gold is recovered from the Slime Dam. Samples are taken, prepared and sent to the Assay Lab for testing. ➢ Plant Process Control using the SCADA, assisted by Section Operators and guided by the Control Room Supervisor/Overseer. ➢ Daily Plant Results, analysis, trending and providing insights on process deviations observed. ➢ Maintenance of online analysis equipment (WAD CN, and the TAC Machine that analyses Free CN). ➢ Conducting bench test work to improve Production and Reduce Cost, while maintaining that Quality Control/Assurance, Environmental & Safety Standards are adhered to. Backfill Water Plant Operations ➢ Sampling and analysis of Backfill water plant and ensuring that the discharge water to the slime dams is within the specification limits for discharge. ➢ Dosing Coagulant & Flocculent for clarifier to maintain good overflow quality. ➢ Chemical dosing for odour control. ➢ Daily Plant Results, analysis, trending and providing insights on deviations observed. ➢ Conducting fault finding in equipment (flowmeters, screens) and presenting root cause findings to Process Superintendent.
