Ward Nutrition COordinatorPart Time

• Job Details:Overseeing nutrition related activities for 4 clinics (Masasi, Chishingwi, Chiadzwa and Mukwada) such as IMAM, IYCF counselling, growth monitoring and VAS Conducting the IMAM through screening of patients, admission of malnourished patients, treatment, discharge and follow-ups of defaulters from the program Conducting growth monitoring of children under five, by taking anthropometric measurements (weight, height, MUAC) and performing passive screening for acute malnutrition (assessing for bilateral pitting oedema screening) at the health facility and in the community Support, monitoring and management of nutrition commodities (RUTF, RUSF, Vitamin A, MNP) at health facilities Making inventory of functional nutrition related equipment used in the ward at the health facility and in the community by village health workers Coordination of Ward Food and Nutrition Security Committee (WFNSC) monthly meetings with representatives of different sectors who are part of nutrition sensitive and nutrition specific interventions Conducting IYCF counselling to and guardians/ caregivers of children under at the health facility and in the community in the form of group and individual counselling Household diet and meal planning for families based on food availability in the local communities Advocacy to stakeholders on nutrition indicators, upraising community member, community leadership and partners Monitoring and evaluation of programs performance sch as Out-patient management of acute malnutrition, growth monitoring, IYCF counselling and community involvement Conducting cooking demonstrations with ingredients gathered from the community to prepare a 4-star diet (carbohydrates, proteins, legumes and fruits and vegetables) Data capturing and analysis and report writing on nutrition indicators at ward level producing activity reports and monthly reports on the activities conducted and the performance of key nutrition indicators Community mobilization for vaccination campaigns and Vitamin A supplementation through advocacy at community gathers and community leadership

Acting District NutritionistPart Time

• Job Details:Developing plans and implementing programs to prevent and reduce malnutrition in the District. This is done through identifying skills and knowledge gaps and developing training strategies to support the implementation of food and nutrition programs Provision and follow up on essential nutrition commodities, nutrition data quality checks, and ensuring correct program implementation through regular site support, mentorship, as well as supporting community level nutrition interventions Developing IEC strategies and material to address priority food and nutrition problems in the district and ensure that nutrition key messages are appropriate to the context and are used as the basis for nutrition education by all community health staff Monitoring and evaluation of nutrition programs as well as management and control of hospital food services Development of interventions to help women during emergencies to resume or increase breastfeeding to protect and nourish their infants. Providing technical expertise and guidance to NGOs working in various Nutrition projects in the district as well as taking lead in mainstreaming Nutrition into other sector activities Lobbying for and management of donor funds targeted at nutrition Programming Assisted the province in the planning, trainings, implementation and monitoring of the community family lead MUAC initiative Analysis of DHIS2 data and using it to compile reports on progress of nutrition programs in the District as well as identifying priority areas for support Conducting needs assessment and setting up surveillance systems for Nutrition Emergency Response, rapid pro Representing the Department in different technical meetings and multisectoral meetings and programs including the Provincial Nutrition Cluster meetings Implementing programs to prevent and reduce malnutrition (IMAM, LFSP) Identifying skills and knowledge gaps and develop training strategies to support implementation of the nutrition programs Identifying mechanisms for providing nutrition relevant information to key policy makers within the district and facilitate appropriate interventions Facilitating information sharing with other sectoral departments either within MOHCC or other line ministries / partner organisations at the field level including, health, livelihoods, HIV / AIDS and food security, teams to ensure an integrated programme approach Carrying out casual analysis and interpretation of nutrition data and identify interventions Producing weekly and monthly reports and provision of statistics from the field sites Facilitating trainings on sensitization of health facility staff, village health workers on COVID-19 and nutrition, IMAM, IYCF counselling, near real time monitoring (rapidpro), active screening (Family lead MUAC) to enhance nutrition programming and improve the well-being of vulnerable groups.
