Mission’s Highlight & Responsibilities:
USAID Mission Egypt tasked the Egypt’s Competitiveness Project (ECP) to carry out the SFD Business Incubators Assessment - The objective of the Business Incubator Assessment is to assess the present capabilities and performance of SFDs incubators within the 7 governorates and the headquarters department implementation/achievement and monitoring. To examine incubators aspects of their performance, especially the processes utilized, to ascertain if they meet minimum business incubation standards and the extent to which they adhere to internationally accepted “best practice”. Also, to identify the critical issues and needs of incubators entrepreneurs and SMEs with regard to starting and developing their enterprises and the extent to which the incubation programs are addressing those needs. Then develop a strategy for the SFD to utilize their current incubators in an optimal basis and potentially develop new sustainable ones based internationals best practices that would encourage start-ups and assist micro and small enterprises with growth and jobs creation.

Worked with a professional team and especially with an American expert with an experience of 35 years within incubation field. We gathered huge quantitative information from the 7 incubators (1 of them is defunct) located within 7 governorates through a methodology set by the expert: Six written survey questionnaires (187 questionnaires are completed/filled in by the incubators existing clients/beneficiaries, graduate clients & SMEs within the region, incubators managers, regional incubators stakeholders/Organizations management, Business Development Services providers, the SFD Incubator Management Dept.) through:

• 19 focus groups (155 participants and with incubators managers).
• 26 individual interviews, including the SFD Incubator staff.
• Gathering incubators documentation and reviewing all written document.

Also, we are involved in the data analysis of all questionnaires results in accordance with the incubation benchmarks such as serving clients, clients selections, incubators governance, facilities management, measuring impact ...etc. and are reaching key problems and suggesting the relevant recommendations.

• Custodian for all accounts opening documentation and forms for corporate accounts in the filing cabinet and a scanned back-up at Citidocs. Follow-up the scanning all documents for the new accounts along with the old accounts at Citidocs (All Corporate Clients’ Files are scanned at this system).
• Issuing bank certificates complied with CBE regulations & open under establishment accounts & issuing certificates of capital increase for customers.
• Physical opening of all kind of bases & accounts on IBBS and the related maintenance (i.e. Chequebooks’ Stop payment / change of address / change of General & Subsidiary Ledgers (GL/SL)/ Signature Identification (SI) / Hold Mail charges/ Recording Checkbooks Serials (CK) /necessary Amendments on the system for Status or others / Maintenance of new Staff salaries/ Staff loans / …etc.)
• Reviewing Compliance Packages (as compliance officer) and if there are any comments we report it to the Compliance Head before opening the new relationship.
• Maintaining micro-sign with the new and existing signatories with its limitations according to updated board of resolution, commercial registration… as per client’s instructions received.
• Freezing, blocking & Flagging accounts according to Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) inquiries and lifting seizure as well after approval of our legal counsel.
• Doing and follow-up checkbooks’ printing and doing records of every cheque on the system for Global Corporate for Investment Banking (GCIB) and doing records for every printing paper by its serials and proceed shredding all void or paper jam papers each month under the supervision of Internal Control Unit (ICU).
