- Job Details:I joined Harvest in 2020 when I arrived from England. I was assigned to be the Reading and Phonics teacher for grades 1 to 5. Since in post, I made huge improvements in the children’s reading ability, reading fluency and love of reading. Typically, a language is best taught through reading as said by educationists. Whilst in post at Harvest, I worked closely with the school leadership team and made improvements on these fronts: - Phonics improvement scheme (for Y1 to Y5) - Bringing up the reading standards (a whole school approach) - Behaviour improvement schemes (across the school) - Enriching the bond in our school parent community. - Creating a sense of "love of reading" amongst our student community through the multifaceted approaches that I introduced in the school. - I have also sparked the idea of a school magazine, which we are currently working on. - I also have very good story reading/telling skills – children get treated to a weekly online bed-time story (still on-going), which they very much enjoy. Prior to arriving in Egypt, I worked as a homeroom teacher in several primary schools in England and I also held a post as a school governor for more than 5 years.
