• Job Details:Responsibilities: • Contributed as co-developer and start-up facilitator to the new shipping department; • Implemented and supervised new contracts - aligning time, voyages, costing and profitability of each contract; • Managed each charter and shipping operation, communicating and informing all parties about progress, obstacles and financial outcomes as well as appointment and monitoring of surveyors and suppliers; • Managed detailed operations - bunker planning, insurance, load/discharge analysis, weather routing, etc.; • Exercised financial control over contract negotiations, statements, invoicing and payments; • Issued operating instructions to agents, ports and vessels in line with quality standards and expectations. Key Achievements: • Implemented the chartering desk of staff management (10 people); • Implemented a world port dataset with port/berth restrictions; • Negotiated the release of hijacked ship by Somali pirates.
