• Job Details:An operations officer and technical referent for a consortium of Academia (Johns Hopkins University and University of Melbourne), INGOs (Miracle feet and Momentum Wheels for Humanity) and digital education platform (Physiopedia). Supporting the USAID funded national health system strengthening project through conducting evidence based researches, interaction with stakeholders and coordinating technical activities. Responsibilities, activities, and achievements included;  Developing annual activities plan and activities budget in coordination with all departments, and ensuring implementation of activities to meet the timeline. The exercise includes activities matrix and narrative development, and donor (USAID) review meetings.  Ensuring strengthening of health system through capacity building of national health system stakeholders, that includes establishing district level service model and national level situation analysis and assessment, using World Health Organization guidelines and tools.  Ensuring coordination and collaboration with the national (Government, Academia, NGOs, Private sector) and international (WHO country office and HQ, Academia, NGOs) technical partners of the project and participates to technical working groups to ensure the implementation of the project's activities.  Creating national and district level health working group under the umbrella of Ministry of Health, including national stakeholders. The responsibilities included writing terms of reference, recruitment of participants and coordinating the working groups.  Contributing to or leading the necessary technical training that includes online and face to face capacity building trainings for leadership, rehabilitation workforce, health management, assistive technology provision and procurement, and identification of disabilities on community level.  Contributing to advocacy on specific themes in line with consortium communication strategy and the global advocacy priorities.  Contributing to communication messages locally in line with the global communication priorities and in close collaboration with the consortium Communications coordinator.  Building collaboration with professional networks, training institutes and main rehabilitation providers and facilitate exchange of information with consortium partners as relevant  Providing technical guidance and support for proposed academic researches on methodologies, contextualization, tools and implementation.  Building and implementing a service model of rehabilitation services provision on district level in collaboration with public and private sectors to provide variant rehabilitation services including Physiotherapy, Prosthetic and Orthotics, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.  Developing reports to donor (USAID), Consortium leads, and Country Director. A narrative report that includes data analysis is provided on the monthly, quarterly and annual reviews. Donor reporting includes desk review in addition to the narrative reports.  Supporting the design and the implementation of case studies, evaluation studies and other learning in country in close collaboration with country project team and the consortium technical coordinators.

Technical AdvisorFull Time

• Job Details:Provision of technical support to HI’s field and coordination program teams, as well as coordinating between the program team and technical unit, to ensure the quality of services provided to beneficiaries across seven rehabilitation centers in North-East Syria. Responsibilities, activities, and achievements included;  Contributed to the overall strategic planning for rehabilitation services in link with other sectors of intervention including MHPSS, inclusion and Mine Risk Education.  Regularly conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis of data to monitor activities, provide feedback and support the programme teams and contribute to donor reports and proposals.  Ensured rehabilitation staff strictly adhered to all HI Policies and Code of Conduct and coordinated with the 2 inclusion team to ensure rehabilitation services are Gender, Age and Disability (GAD) inclusive.  Handing over rehabilitation centers management to national ministry of health and Kurdish Red Cross, following a capacity assessment and building of the partners to ensure sustainability.  Conducted market assessments and quality assessment of assistive devices and equipment to establish local suppliers network, which resulted in significant improvements to the procurement process.  Contributed to the development and update of technical guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for services and ensured implementation of the technical and quality framework.  Conducting skills assessments to develop and implement 8 practical trainings to 28 rehabilitation staff according to identified needs, which required development of course material, pre/post-tests, handouts and feedback evaluation forms.  Provision of ongoing capacity building and regular technical follow up to the Rehabilitation Technical Officers, which has enabled them to take ownership of technical support and monitoring to their respective rehabilitation teams.  Planning and coordinating regular meetings with Project Managers to discuss progress, challenges and to develop and implement new monitoring tools, which have improved overall quality of the rehabilitation services.  Provided significant input to project proposals, including development of the strategic and technical elements of the project, log frame and indicator targets, as well as financial requirements.  Identified, coordinated and led meetings with other organizations to establish new partnerships, providing technical support and input to develop activities, frameworks and identify staffing and financial needs for new health-related projects and partnerships.

Rehabilitation TrainerFull Time

• Job Details:Improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries to meet the project objectives and technical standards. Provision of technical support to the clinical staff in the field, this included technical skill assessments, development of individual and group capacity building plan, and conduction of technical trainings. Responsibilities, activities, and achievements included;  Through regular field visits, case study discussions, formal skills assessments and on-the-job assessment, identified rehabilitation staff difficulties and specific training needs to develop individual capacity building plans.  Planned and delivered formal technical trainings and provided continual on-the-job training to the rehabilitation staff, resulting in improvement of the services delivered to beneficiaries.  Monitored the delivery of services to ensure compliance with standard HI guidelines, as well as technical relevance and quality.  Maintained a strong level of coordination with the program team and technical unit, to support delivery of training and ensure regular reporting of activities (e.g. statistic, weekly situation report, regular review of monthly objectives, etc.).
