    • Job Details:I had the proud to join ISSIP 2 as a PMC EHS professional- Black& Vetch to manage the EHS system with the HCWW/PIU to apply the World Bank EHS action Plan after the Fatality conducted at ZAWIA- ASSUIT governorate, this was applied as follow: 1. Improve knowledge and awareness among the project leadership: Organizing H&S training workshops for Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Rural Sewerage Units (RSU) with verifications such as Training records; Attendance sheets; Training materials; Post evaluation, also, organize H&S plenary meetings to convey safety messages through weekly meetings/Contract at projects' sites; and monthly meeting at HCWW with verifications such as meeting records (minutes, attendees, decisions, etc.) 2. Prepare detailed risk assessment and risk management plan for each activity: Developing a risk assessment associated, risk management and safety plans for each construction activity, identify legal standards and other international standards (i.e. OSHA, World Bank Group EHS Guidelines … etc.) as reference, so that mitigation measures are complying with best standards and practice. 3. Update H&S plans for each construction site with competent H&S supervisors, adequate training provided at the workers’ level, and means of communication and coordination: Customizing activity H&S plans to different construction sites including developing: standard Permit of Work System for high-risk activities, safe work-statements for non-high-risk activities; and, internal and external communication, enforce the Permit to Work System to ensure the personal safety of those engaged in the Work and to ensure that the personal safety of others is not endangered by the Work, ensure that Contractor not start work until he has obtained and has in his possession a valid Permit to Work as required. Strengthening OHS staffing by recruiting a qualified and competent OHS supervisor for each contract; Issue an ID for each contract's OHS supervisors; Template for OHS daily report for each operation; Method statement for each activity with a clear and detailed site OHS plan(s) includes who does what, when and how; and Clearance and approval cycle for work request. Interview and approve all supervisors and workers to assure that they are qualified to apply OHS rules and procedures; develop, issue and circulate a template for daily OHS report; Method statement for each construction activity are developed addressing OHS requirements for each construction activity; and Clearance and approval cycle for OHS activities is declared, develop a training timely plan and develop an adequate training material using best standards and practices. 4. Ensure that all workers (under contractors and subcontractors) have valid contracts that are duly honored and covered by insurance, demonstrating appropriate qualifications, age, etc: Develop a model of site labor's record including, but not limited to, social and any other relevant insurances evidence, birth date/ age of workers (demonstrating 18 years of age or older), attendance sheet, etc, issue Official/Formal instructions, notifications to all concerned parties (Contractors, CSCs, etc) to ensure that labor record approved and available at each site office; and On-site random inspections. 5. Improve supervision and enforcement : Enforcing CSCs to assure that all site's OHS requirement are strictly followed and unsafe behavior are prohibited by conducting On-site random inspections; Correspondence records; and Trail of action(s) taken such as Official/formal letters and/or notices issued to all contractors and other concerned parties as required. Follow up with contractors to prepare monthly reports (to be approved by CSCs) showing key safety indicators (number and type of accidents - number and type of deviations and violations), alert Contractors and CSCs to immediately notify the RSUs, PIU and PMC about any serious accidents (causing death or serious injury). Investigate incidents (NM, FA, MTC, RWC, and Fatality) and prepare investigation report including root cause analysis with corrective actions and recommendations. Ensure that EHS Action Plan activities are discussed and strictly monitored by the Project's Steering Committee (MOHUUC, MOIC, and other concerned entities) on each monthly meeting. Establish and develop document control system to assure that all Project's records are kept safely and made available upon request at each WSCs and PIU.
