Expertise Summary To summarize, for the past 30 years I have been working predominantly on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Sandvik & Atlas Copco & Surface & Underground Mining Equipment being Drills, Scooptram Loaders, Trucks & Utility Machinery employed in the Mining & Tunnelling industries the last 3 years of which being spent at Acacia Mining, previously known as African Barrick Gold, at Bulyanhulu Mine in the Kahama district in Tanzania. Most Recent Work Experience I have been working in the Asset Reliability Department as their Failure Analyst, Machinery & Component Commissioning Technician. I have set up this section of the department to an extent to be now locally self-sufficient. Prior to working for Acacia Mining in Tanzania I was employed for 20 years at Anglogold Ashanti's Obuasi Mine in Ghana which has been all but closed with regards to production & put under care & maintenance until development of viable mining areas are performed. My original assignment at Obuasi as a Mechanical Training Coordinator was generating & presenting machinery training courses which were handed over to local instructors for implementation. My latter 15 years have been as the Machinery Reliability Analyst & Auditor & the Mining Machinery Workshop Superintendent where I assisted to set up the Mining Machinery Surface Workshops. Prior to working in Ghana I was employed in South Africa working for Gold, Coal Mining Companies & Contractors. I was also employed as a Mining Machinery Product Support Technician for both Sandvik & Atlas Copco Drilling Machinery where I supported Gold, Coal, Diamond & Copper Mines & the Highlands Water Tunnelling Project in Lesotho Southern Africa. Throughout my working life I have also had extensive experience of overhauling complete machines & machinery components including Engines, Transmissions, Axles & Rockdrill Hammers. Prior to working in Tanzania & Ghana I work I was employed in South Africa at Sishen Iron Ore Mine situated in the Northern Cape & the Monastery Diamond Open Cast Mine at Marquard in the Orange Free State situated close to the border of Lesotho where I had cause to work on many diverse types of machinery employed in open pit mining. Prior to emigrating from the UK to South Africa I worked in Saudi Arabia as Airport Fire & Crash Vehicle Supervisor where I was responsible for the maintenance of Airport Fire & Crash Vehicles on five airports along the borders of Iraq, Iran & Kuwait which serviced five towns & the Oil Pipeline which runs along the entire northern border of Saudi Arabia from Kuwait to Iran most of which is considered to be a very remote area. At the onset of my working life I was apprenticed in the UK as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic where I worked for my first 12 years of employment. Education I served a 5 year apprenticeship the first year being in attendance at the Salisbury & South Wiltshire College of Technology where I attended the first year course for Motor Vehicle Mechanics. I attended the same college during the further 4 years of my apprenticeship but on a one day per week basis.I have passed the following examinations, City & Guilds 168 Parts 1, 2 for Motor Vehicle Mechanics with Credit City & Guilds 168 Part 3 for Compression Ignition Engines with Heavy Vehicle Applications with Credit I also hold the National Craftsman's Certificate for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
