• Job Details:• Assess patients in need of surgery and d etermine patients’ status and ensure that any related issues are documented appropriately • Review conditions that may affect surgical status (patients’ history) • Verify patients’ name and other credentials and match them with surgical orders • Engage in conversation with patients to determine their fears and attempt to put them at ease • Prepare operating units by ensuring instruments and supplies are clean and available; set up surgical beds and supplies • Develop an intra-operative nursing care plan based on preoperative assessments • Checks and administers scheduled drugs in the correct amounts & at the right time to a wide variety of patients. • Acts as the first point of contact for patients, answering their questions as well as listening to their concerns • Provides assistance to Resident physicians as and when required in a wide range of scenarios. • Provides excellent patient care in a nurturing and supportive environment to a wide range of patients. • Provides care for patients suffering from trauma or other illnesses that require emergency attention. • Recognizes and effectively treats life-threatening conditions, with the ability to deploy rapid assessment and treatment of patients in highly critical situations, particularly during the initial phase of acute illness and trauma, where every second is important. • Well prepared to treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries, ranging from fever to heart attack.
