• Job Details:• Design and conduct experiments • Use specialist software to analyze data • Produce a diagrammatic representation of the results • Carry out presentations at team meetings with colleagues • Follow recent relevant scientific literature and journals Thesis title: The Role of Candida Albicans in Oral Carcinogenesis The specific objectives of the study are to: • Examine the effect of heat-killed Candida albicans(HKCA) on the oral normal, dysplastic, and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cell lines, using the resazurin assay to study cell viability, the Incucyte® scratch assay to evaluate migration, and the leiomyoma organotypic invasion model to study invasion. • Determine the effect of HKCA on the EMT of normal, dysplastic, and cancer cell lines, by the detection of E-cadherin and vimentin, by Western blotting. • Assess the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 from the dysplastic and cancer cell lines in response to HKCA, using the Enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
