• Job Details:Process Safety Engineer - Descon Oxychem Ltd, Lahore.  Analyzing daily technical report to monitor the energy index of Hydrogen, Hydrogen Peroxide and Utilities plant.  Simulation of 1700 Nm3/hr of hydrogen plant with coordination of DIPL (formerly JGC engineering Ltd).  Optimize the reformer operations by calculating thermal efficiency, adjustment of air to fuel ratio and excess air calculation and cleaning the convection section exchangers.  Key support for engineering team in Plant improvement projects like compressor replacement, exchanger’s replacement, Instrument Air dryer replacement and Chiller unit.  Maintain and calculate the quantity of catalyst/Chemicals required for Hydrotreator, Desulphurizer, HTSC and ETP.  Performance evaluation of heat exchangers by measuring pressure drop through them and rating of pumps and heat exchangers by using Hysys.  Provides Technical support for procurement of Reformer tubes by reviewing the technical proposals.  Chemical Optimization and overhauling of Demineralization plant by loading and unloading of water treatment resins.  As a process expert provides the support to Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) team of Hydrogen plant using what/If checklists & HAZOP which resulted in the highlighting of hazards of area & generated recommendation for their rectification in Throughput and improved safety project.  In case of unplanned shutdown of the plant, should make a failure analysis and diagnosis to find the causes of failure and provide solutions.  Preparation of MOC (Management of change) documents for process changes and installation of new facilities.  In-depth knowledge of Water Treatment facilities including, Pre-treatment, Demineralization, Boiler Feed Water System, Cooling Water and Waste Water Treatment.  Technical evaluation of contractor data and quotations, technical queries & technical correspondence & immediate reporting of all incidents and Near Misses/potential incidents.  Development monthly HSE statistic and follow up of HSE incidents RCA’s actions close out.  Development/Monitoring of site safety indicators (KPI’s) on monthly basis and recommendations to improve safety and quality performance.  Quality monitoring of Incident Investigations and RCA’s through Tripod Beta Analysis  Preparation of Incident and Injury Analysis on yearly basis.  Lead investigations in process safety incidents and implementation of recommended actions.  Lead and Conduct Mock Emergency Response Drills on Quarterly basis.  Conduct & Coordinate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) of critical activities in day-to-day business  Conducting Sub HSE OHIH committee meetings handling of routine matters related to OHIH program.  Routine Audits of Quality, Catering Hygiene, Illumination Surveys and Noise Surveys.  Improving HSE Culture through Hearts and Minds Program.  Coordinate & Conduct QHSE orientation programs for Contractors and Visitors.  Noise Survey’s, LUX Surveys and Catering Hygiene Audits as per defined frequency.  Lead meetings with Contractors during ATA to ensure close monitoring & compliance to HSE policy.  Motivate & educate site personnel for honest & immediate reporting of all incidents and Near Misses/potential incidents  Developing Fitness to work protocols for professional drivers, food handlers and confined space employees.  Development monthly QHSE statistic and follow up of HSE incidents RCA’s actions close out.
