• Job Details:Role Overview: A Patent Agent assists clients in preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications with the relevant patent offices (such as the USPTO or local IP offices). They possess a strong technical or scientific background—often in engineering, chemistry, biology, or physics—and combine this with legal knowledge related to patent laws and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Draft and file patent applications for inventions. Conduct prior art searches to determine the novelty of an invention. Communicate with patent examiners to address objections and amendments during the prosecution process. Provide guidance on patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement risks. Manage deadlines and documentation related to patent filings and office actions. Coordinate with inventors, R&D teams, and attorneys to accurately describe and protect innovations. Stay updated on local and international IP regulations and changes in patent laws. Skills & Qualifications: Degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, chemistry, biotechnology). Registered with a relevant patent office, if required by jurisdiction. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. Familiarity with patent databases and research tools. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
