Job Description
We are looking for a Tendering Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing technical and financial proposals, analyzing project requirements, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for mechanical systems (HVAC, Firefighting, and Plumbing).
- Review and analyze tender documents, including drawings, specifications, bills of quantities (BOQ), and RFP/RFQ packages.
- Raise clarification requests to clients and host/attend meetings to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
- Break down projects into manageable work packages and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Gather and evaluate supplier quotations; prepare comparison sheets and cost analyses.
- Develop accurate cost estimates covering materials, labor, preliminaries, overheads, and profit margins.
- Conduct risk and opportunity analyses, suggesting mitigation strategies where necessary.
- Compile complete tender submissions, including technical and commercial proposals, schedules, and bid documentation.
- Liaise with internal teams — sales, technical office, procurement, finance, legal — to align on deliverables and ensure alignment.
- Present tenders to internal reviewers or clients, incorporate feedback, and revise submissions as needed.
- After successful award, hand over tender documentation to the project execution team and support the smooth transition.
- Update and maintain tendering tools such as Excel templates, pricing databases, and tender management software.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (a must).
- 1–5 years of experience in tendering, pricing, or estimation for MEP or mechanical contracting companies.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing).
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
