Job Description

Head Of Counselling Department is needed for Monglish Academy. 

Work Conditions: 

  • From 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Location: Alexandria.
  • Work From Office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in achieving the academy’s strategic goals for the wellbeing of students.
  • Ensuring that all members of the Counselling team are familiar with the academy's mission and objectives and are aware of all aspects of the Academy's Counselling Policy and its philosophy and objectives.
  • Ensuring that all members of the Counselling team observe the highest ethical standards in their dealings with students and parents, maintaining appropriate confidentiality in line with academy policy
  • Ensuring that all members of the Counselling team convey realistic expectations of potential and future progress to parents and children
  • Ensuring that weekly logs of cases dealt with, by each member of the Counselling team, are included in weekly reports sent to the Academic Director.
  • Acting as a mentor and role model for students and colleagues. Spreading a positive approach to work life
  • Conducting appraisals of Department members along with councilors, in order to review aspects and skills that need to be enhanced, to better meet the needs of the students.
  • Reviewing professional development needs of self and department members to ensure that relevant skills are built.
  • Updating and reporting any recent relevant publications, reports etc. to the Academic Director
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on how to support their own wellbeing and increase and promote awareness of appropriate resources internal and external to academy.

 

 

Job Requirements

Main Requirements:

  • 10 years working with a school or organization with a focus on children from Early Learning to Year 12, preferably in a school setting.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the emotional needs of children and adolescents.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, mentoring and mediation.
