Job Description

  • The Project Manager is in charge of the development of the project’s strategy and ensures the smooth
  • running of the project in his/her zone of assignment in line with Tdh policies and national strategies in
  • order to achieve the expected results within the framework and the budget of the project.
  • S/he is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the interventions/activities
  • con-ducted by three mobile teams covering greater Cairo to support the most vulnerable refugee children
  • through case management, psychosocial support and nonformal education. Also, S/he is responsible for
  • the coordination with the partners and internally with Support, Communication, M&E, and Child Protection
  • teams in the delegation.
  • The incumbent commits to observe discretion on any information related to the organization functioning.
  • She/he will conduct her/his duties in respect of the Charter of Terre des Hommes (Tdh) and Tdh Safeguard-
  • ing Policy. She/he commits to ensuring a high level of children participation and will always work in the best interest of the child. Tdh intervenes without any affiliation for politics, religion or financial profit. The incumbent will direct her/his activities and engagements without preoccupation with political, racial or religious affiliation.
  • Project Planning & Implementation:
  • • Supervise the adequate planning of all project activities and ensure that this planning is followed up
  • and regularly updated,
  • • In close collaboration with the Finance and Admin Department, ensure the correct financial management of projects.
  • • Ensure the results and objectives of the project are achieved with high-quality standards and
  • within the agreed timeframe.
  • • In close coordination with the program coordinator, develop the project strategy in line with the Tdh
  • strategic commitments,
  • • Supervise the implementation and the monitoring of project activities (including project administration, procurement and maintenance of supplies) through adequate supervision of the teams and
  • regular field visits,
  • • Conduct assessments as required, whether as a stand-alone piece of work or as part of a larger
  • Tdh assessment or during the process of developing project proposals,
  • • Supervise the preparation of narrative and statistical reports for donors as measured by expected
  • outcomes and indicators, in a timely manner, as well as concept note and proposal for project development,
  • • Provide technical support and guidance to her/his team, in order to ensure an excellent level of
  • quality of the projects implemented, compliant with international standards, focusing on case management, MHPSS, Child Protection, Nonformal learning activities, and capacity building of refugees CBOs.
  • • Plan and conduct periodic program review meetings to assess progress, adjust plans and
  • draw/disseminate lessons learned,
  • • Ensure mainstreaming of TDH’s Child Safeguarding policy in all the program activities;
  • • Ensure TDH’s policies and procedures are being adhered to improve programme operational efficiency;
  • Reporting:
  • • Ensure accurate monitoring & evaluation plans for the different project components, developing
  • additional monitoring & evaluation tools as necessary to monitor project progress, with support of
  • Monitoring, Evaluation team;
  • • Ensure developing timely and quality technical and financial reports as per the project donor’s requirements against the agreed indicators;
  • • Compile concise quantitative and qualitative reports on a monthly basis;
  • Coordination:
  • • Report to the Programs coordinator; solicit advice and feedback and work with the teams during
  • Program design, advocacy message development, lessons learned documentation and MEAL
  • planning
  • • Maintain close communication and coordination with the support services team, the communication officer and the Protection officer
  • • Develop relationships with the donor, partners, government authorities, other actors to ensure continued support for TDH’s programmes
  • Tdh Global Code of Conduct and Risk Management Policies:
  • Fully complies with Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct and systematically reports any breach to the Code
  • through the whistleblowing procedure: raises awareness within the Foundation on abuse and violence and
  • the rights deriving therefrom, respecting the rights and dignity of children, members of the communities and our own Staff Commits to respecting Risk Management Policies including Safeguarding Policies (Child Safeguarding Policy, Policy on the Protection against Sexual Exploitation and the Directive on Staff Misconduct at the Workplace), Safety and Security Policy and Anti-Fraud/Corruption and Prevention of the Financing of Criminal Activities Policies Commits to reducing the risk of abuse and harm by developing a culture of open and informed leadership within the organization and in our work with children and the communities in which we intervene in.

Job Requirements

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor; and preferably masters; degree in social science or any related field.
  • Experience • 6 – 8 years of experience in the field of Migration, child protection, Case management, and PSS activities.
  • Experience in INGO project management in the field is mandatory:
  • Previous relevant experience and extensive knowledge of the relevant programs: child protection, migration, PSS, Case management, and nonformal education.
  • Previous relevant experience and extensive knowledge of project design and experience in project development (strong knowledge and skills in M&E is especially important)
  • Strong experience in developing strategies as well as a local partnership;
  • Large experience of major institutional donors (UNICEF, UNHCR, SDC, EU, etc.) and significant projects;
  • Experience with budgets and budgeting;

Languages Knowledges and skills

  • Fluent in English commands - Arabic speaker
  • Experienced in MS Office package
