Job Description
- Designed bridges and other highway related structures using PennDOT standards, and AASHTO policies and procedures.
- Provided engineering supervision to technicians and CADD draftsman in daily work activities associated with project and employee development.
- Reviewed soil reconnaissance, preliminary TS&L design studies, hydrology & hydraulic reports, geotechnical reports, foundation reports, PS&E packages, and QA/QC forms prepared by consulting engineers.
- Reviewed fabricator shop drawings for compliance with design drawings.
- Assisted in the development of bridge maintenance repair contracts.
- Reviewed geotechnical reports and project drawings/specifications to ensure correct construction quality.
- Supervised major bridges under construction and checked material testing procedures.
- Prepared structural and geotechnical reports on rehabilitation of drainage structures.
Job Requirements
- Able to read construction drawings and use AutoCAD
- College / University, Bachelor of Engineering Architecture or Civil.
- From 5 -10 years of experience as a Bridges Civil Engineer
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
