Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our Alexandria-based team, working on behalf of a Dubai-based engineering and consultancy firm. The selected candidate will contribute to a wide range of projects located in Dubai, UAE, including high-end villa developments, complex residential structures, and high-rise towers. The role provides an opportunity to engage in challenging structural systems design and detailing while working within a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
- The Structural Designer will be responsible for carrying out structural design and analysis for villas, high-end and complex residential projects, and high-rise buildings. Projects frequently involve seismic/earthquake design and require strong command of analysis and design software including ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and PROKON. Candidates must be proficient in applicable international design codes, particularly American and British standards; knowledge of UAE/local codes is preferred. Responsibilities include preparing analysis models, structural calculations, design reports, and coordinated drawings. Experience working within a consulting environment is essential, as is the ability to coordinate design layouts, review drawings, and ensure designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university (Higher Institutes not accepted)
- 2–10 years of experience in structural design within a consultancy environment
- Strong experience in villa design; high-end / complex villa experience is highly preferred
- Experience in high-rise design and seismic/earthquake design
- Proficiency in American and British design codes; knowledge of UAE codes is a plus
- Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and PROKON for structural design and analysis
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and coordination
- Strong ability to prepare structural analysis models, detailed calculations, and design reports
- Familiarity with concrete and steel design principles, construction materials, and building systems
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to high-quality output
- Reasonable/intermediate level of English communication
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
