Job Description
- Design high-level IoT architecture covering edge, connectivity (Wi-Fi, LPWAN, 5G), and core/cloud systems.
- Create visual architecture diagrams showing edge nodes, gateways, cloud systems, and security components.
- Recommend connectivity protocols (e.g., LoRaWAN for sensors, 5G for real-time robotics).
- Define and implement network security frameworks (TLS/SSL, X.509, intrusion detection).
- Develop scalability strategies for onboarding, OTA updates, and congestion management.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to align infrastructure with business goals.
- Manage hybrid connectivity models (Wi-Fi indoor, LPWAN outdoor, 5G for critical systems).
- Document system designs, specifications, and network topologies using standard modeling tools.
- Ensure compliance with standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Evaluate and manage connectivity and hardware vendors.
- Oversee edge-to-core integration, including protocol translation and cloud data pipelines.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Network Architecture.
- Proven experience in IoT infrastructure design and deployment.
- Hands-on work in industrial IoT, smart city, or healthcare IoT environments.
- Strong understanding of edge computing frameworks (AWS IoT Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS IoT Core, Google IoT, Azure IoT Hub).
- Deep knowledge of connectivity protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11ax), LPWAN (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT), 5G (URLLC).
- Experience with network security practices, zero-trust architecture, and TPMs.
- Skilled in tools like NS-3, Cisco Packet Tracer, Wireshark for network simulation and testing.
- Familiarity with AI/ML data handling at the edge is a plus.
- Certifications: AWS IoT, Google Cloud IoT, CCNA/CCNP, 5G (Nokia or equivalent).
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
