Investment Analyst

Position: Investment Analyst

We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our Team. The role will be based out of our Dubai office.

The Team: One Tech Capital is a startup studio that focuses on building innovative startups from scratch. We invest our technical expertise, resources and network to create disruptive platforms right from product development, operational set up, go-to-market strategies, marketing, to legal entity setup and fund raising. 

The Role: The Investment Analyst at One Tech Capital will be responsible for determining ideas that have been shortlisted are viable for a spin out.  

The ideal candidate will be skilled at examining and interpreting data from different sources and understanding the impact this will have for investment decision making. You'll need to research a set of companies in depth to make informed recommendations.

The analyst will seek information, data, and research to support this analysis, including but not limited to the following: 

Market Research and Idea Generation:

• Conduct in-depth research to identify potential startup ideas and innovative business models suitable for the Middle East market.
• Analyze market trends, industry landscapes, customer needs, and emerging opportunities to generate novel and impactful venture concepts.

Idea Validation:

• Perform rigorous market validation exercises to assess the viability and potential success of proposed venture ideas.
• Engage with target customers, industry experts, and stakeholders to gather feedback, validate hypotheses, and refine business concepts.

Competitive Analysis:

• Conduct competitive intelligence and benchmarking to identify strengths, weaknesses, and differentiation points for the proposed ventures.
• Analyze the competitive landscape to uncover potential challenges and opportunities in the market.
• Create and participate in pitch presentations.

Business Planning and Execution:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business strategists, product managers, and developers, to develop detailed execution plans for selected ventures.
• Prepare comprehensive business plans, including financial projections, resource allocation, and risk assessments.

• Define go-to-market approaches tailored to the unique characteristics of the Middle East market.

• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• • Identify potential risks and obstacles that may affect the successful execution of ventures.
  • Propose risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to safeguard against potential challenges.

• Market Intelligence:

• • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory developments in the Middle East market.
  • Continuously gather market intelligence to enhance decision-making and refine business strategies.
  • Drafting and writing research reports for use in various Company literature

The Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or related fields.
• Proven experience in market research, business analysis, or venture development is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the Middle East market, cultural nuances, and consumer behaviors.
• Excellent analytical skills, capable of transforming complex data into actionable insights.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and identify innovative business opportunities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey ideas and proposals.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.
• Proficient in written and spoken English. Arabic is a major plus.
