Job Description
- Inspect all cargo entering or exiting the terminal gate and take appropriate actions in line with port policies and procedures.
- Ensure that no cargo is allowed to enter or leave the port without proper and verified documentation.
- Monitor and control access for trucks, containers, and personnel through the yard gate.
- Verify shipping documents, permits, container numbers, and truck details before allowing entry or exit.
- Log all movements in the terminal operating system and maintain accurate gate records.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers to provide clear instructions and respond to gate-related inquiries.
- Work closely with yard planning, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth cargo flow and minimal gate congestion.
- Alert supervisors or security personnel in case of documentation discrepancies, suspicious activity, or safety concerns.
- Conduct random checks and visual inspections of containers to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Support EHS policy enforcement at the gate area.
- Assist in coordinating customs inspections and regulatory requirements when needed.
- Prepare daily reports on gate activities and any incidents or irregularities observed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or any related major.
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or container yard operations.
- In-depth understanding of container yard operations and logistics processes.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (EHS standards).
- Familiarity with equipment used in container yards (e.g., Kalmar, chassis, headers).
- Experience in incident management and implementing safety protocols.
