Job Description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic HSE & Facility Manager to join our fast-growing team, helping to transform the way people sell and buy used cars in the Region.
You will have day-to-day responsibility for managing Sylndr’s warehouse safely, effectively, and efficiently manage all warehouse operations. And ensuring adherence to Sylndr’s health and safety policies, developing the site’s commercial viability, and providing a high-quality experience to our Members and partners.
What you will do!!
- Overall responsibility and compliance of the Company’s H&S, making sure staff are aware of the importance of Health and Safety protocol.
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the operations and office locations according to legal guidelines and standards.
- Conduct all “risk assessments” as required by legislation.
- Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
- Prepare and enforce policies.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Overseeing and agreeing on contracts and providers for services, including security, cleaning, and catering.
- Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff, including cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and security...etc
- Ensuring that basic facilities are well-maintained.
- Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Advising on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Overseeing building projects, renovations, or refurbishments.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of ordering supplies, equipment, and/or services and inventory control.
- Ability to prepare engineering documents, specifications and cost estimates for projects.
- Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.
- Knowledge of facilities services, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utility operations, building maintenance, carpentry and finish work.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Experience maintaining or reaching externally audited management standards such as OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Management and ISO 14001, knowledgeable with all relevant standards, legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a master's or diploma is preferable as well as certification in risk management and health/safety management is a plus.
- Credible experience in health and safety, including operations experience.
