Job Description
- Lead and manage the costing team, ensuring timely and accurate cost calculations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor cost accounting systems, documents, and records.
- Prepare and review product costing, including standard cost and actual cost comparisons.
- Conduct variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, production efficiency) and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee the preparation of cost budgets, forecasts, and profitability reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulations in costing processes.
- Support management in pricing strategies by providing reliable cost data.
- Monitor inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and stock reconciliation with accounting.
- Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Provide guidance and training to the costing team to enhance skills and performance.
- Collaborate with production, supply chain, and procurement to ensure accuracy in costing data.
- Prepare periodic reports on costing KPIs for senior management.
Job Requirements
- 7-9 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA/CPA certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles (e.g., standard costing, activity-based costing).
- Knowledge of financial reporting tools and databases.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculation and reporting.
