Job Description
- Develop a structured geometric plan for quarry operations to ensure optimal land utilization.
- Determine the blending ratios between different quarry layers based on quality variations to meet the raw material acceptance standards at the plant.
- Establish plans for uncovering all quarry zones in parallel with the regular operational schedule.
- Provide instructions to quarry supervisors regarding excavator working locations to maintain raw material quality and ensure efficient quarry utilization.
- Instruct quarry supervisors and subsequently excavator operators to separate contaminated raw material to prevent mixing with high-quality material.
- Maintain continuous communication with the quarry contractor under the direct supervision of the line manager to ensure work continuity and resolve any operational issues.
- Oversee the removal of waste materials from the quarry and ensure they are disposed of in the designated dumping areas.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science – Geology major.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in industries such as cement and mining.
- Strong knowledge of quarry operations, raw material quality standards, and geological formations.
- Proven experience in planning quarry layouts and extraction sequences to optimize land utilization.
- Solid understanding of material blending requirements to meet plant quality acceptance criteria.
- Experience in supervising quarry activities and coordinating with contractors and field teams.
- Ability to monitor and control raw material contamination and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Strong communication and reporting skills with the ability to work under direct managerial supervision.
- Excellent decision-making skills and capability to handle operational issues promptly.
- Proficient in using geological and quarry operational tools/systems as required by the role.
