Job Description

  • Demand & Supply Planning Section Head / Manager is responsible for ensuring that the University demand and supply overall operations are timely and efficient. Develop and oversee forecast demand trends through analyzing historical data and maintaining constant communication channels with university’s faculties and departments, capable of developing forecast models for consumables, assets and services.

Job Requirements

  • Develop effective forecast models based on annual budget and develop demand patterns based on historical analysis of data as well as building well analyzed data to help improving overall SCM performance
  • Manage Supply Chain Management purchasing requests and obtaining enough data from customers to enable Buying team to secure timely delivery with targeted quality/price.
  • Lead development of stock items list with Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) and re-order level to match with limited warehouse area while maintaining SLA standards.
  • Lead development in collaboration with Buying team and review periodically the lead-time per SKU, MOQ and Re-order levels.
  • Oversee daily follow up with Buying team to track each purchase request (PR)
  • Report to SCM director on weekly basis the overall pending PRs status as well as any delays witnessed with a proposal regarding how to rectify those delays.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor, report, and communicate all changes in such as but not limited (delivery time, actual cost vs. budget, actual quantity vs. budget)
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working closely with Customers, Buying team, Warehouse team and budget unit.
  • Create statistical forecasts including such as but not limited to (Gather, analyze, and validate data, Review resulting statistical forecast model, Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting, Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts)
  • Undertake various duties as assigned by Supply Chain Director
