Job Description:
The Site Engineer is responsible for the overall supervision of construction and finishing projects from start to finish. This includes following up on the work on-site, supervising subcontractors, laborers, and technicians, adhering to the schedule, and ensuring that the work is done with the required quality and at the planned cost while eliminating waste.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up on the work on-site and ensure that it is done according to the plans and specifications. This includes visiting the site regularly, reviewing the work done, and ensuring that it meets the requirements of the plans and specifications.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure that they are meeting their obligations. This includes meeting with subcontractors regularly, reviewing their work, and providing them with feedback.
- Adhere to the schedule and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This includes tracking the progress of projects, identifying potential delays, and taking steps to mitigate those delays.
- Ensure that the work is done with the required quality and that all safety regulations are followed. This includes inspecting the work regularly, identifying potential hazards, and taking steps to correct those hazards.
- Reduce waste and optimize the use of resources. This includes identifying areas where waste can be reduced, such as by reusing materials or by recycling.
- In addition to the above, Site Engineers may also be responsible for the following:
- Preparing reports on the progress of projects
- Coordinating with other members of the construction team, such as architects, engineers, and contractors
- Obtaining permits and approvals from government agencies
- Dealing with customer inquiries and complaints
- Site Engineers must have a strong understanding of construction principles and practices. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. They must also be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or interior design.
- 2-3 years of experience in interior finishing projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Familiar with different computer skills such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Excel.
- Has a car.
