Job Description
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the revenue cycle process, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue capture and reduce claim denials.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on revenue cycle metrics for senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and financial teams to streamline workflows and resolve revenue cycle issues.
- Lead, mentor, and train revenue cycle staff to achieve departmental goals and maintain high performance standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage relationships with third-party payers and vendors to facilitate timely and accurate reimbursement.
- Address and resolve complex billing and payment issues, including appeals and escalations.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies relevant to revenue cycle management.
Job Requirements
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management within the healthcare industry, specifically Behavioral/Mental Health. Experience in telehealth is a plus.
- Proven track record of successfully leading revenue cycle teams and managing end-to-end processes.
- Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Experience working in a remote environment and managing distributed teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and payer requirements.
- Proficiency with revenue cycle management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, scrappy, start-up environment.
- US healthcare experience is REQUIRED
