Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition and Management
Recruitment: Develop job descriptions , source and screen candidates , conduct interviews , and perform background checks.
Onboarding and Offboarding: Welcome new hires , handle all necessary paperwork , and manage the process for employees who are leaving the company.
Retention: Implement strategies to keep employees engaged and satisfied , such as recognition programs and career development opportunities.
2. Compensation and Benefits Administration
Compensation: Ensure that the company's offerings are competitive and fair.
Payroll: Work with finance or a third-party service to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time , including managing deductions and taxes.
Benefits: Oversee employee benefits like health insurance and retirement plans.
3. Employee Relations and Performance Management
Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes between employees and addressing workplace issues.
Performance Reviews: Manage performance evaluation systems , provide feedback , and help employees set professional goals.
Disciplinary Actions: Handle disciplinary procedures and, when necessary, managing the termination process.
4. HR Compliance and Administration
Legal Compliance: Stay up to date on federal, state, and local labor laws and ensure company policies are compliant. This includes managing health and safety regulations.
Policy Development: Create, update, and enforce company policies and procedures , often documented in an employee handbook.
Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records , including personal data, attendance, and performance reports.
5. Training and Development
Training Programs: Developing and implementing training materials and sessions to help employees acquire new skills.
Career Planning: Providing a clear path for employee advancement and offering opportunities for professional growth within the company.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or CIPD is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources covering the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding).
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of labor laws and HR compliance regulations, preferably those applicable in the U.S. (California).
- Proven experience in compensation and benefits administration, payroll coordination, and employee relations.
- Familiarity with HR systems (HRIS), ATS tools, and performance management software.
