Job Description
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects based on drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Analyze project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project scope.
- Solicit and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Develop and maintain a database of unit costs, labor rates, and material prices.
- Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation for submission to clients.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss estimates, budgets, and project timelines.
- Monitor project progress and update estimates as needed to reflect changes in scope or market conditions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations throughout the estimation process.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimation or a related field.
- Proven ability to interpret and analyze electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
