Job Description

  • Identifying suitable quality frameworks targets for each unit based on university requirements.
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining the quality policy for the Academic units.
  • Collaborating with the Associate Provost for Quality to set Quality Benchmarks
  • Assuring risk factors are well addressed in quality projects.
  • Monitoring progress of ongoing quality activities.
  • Tracking the progress of Quality CI projects.
  • Assuring that quality concepts are well disseminated to Academic units.
  • Assisting the Academic units to sustain the concepts of NAQAAE and ISO Standards.
  • Providing regular guidance to ongoing quality improvement and accreditation projects in various units.
  • Maintaining and disseminating an updated inventory of quality templates (process maps, operational procedures, guidelines, …).
  • Liaising with Program Directors and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards. 
  • Continuous self-development and capacity building on modern quality trends and systems.
  • Directing the Academic Quality Unit’s team for efficient operation towards annual goals.
  • Assisting the Academic units in analyzing key process to identify Non-Value Added (NVA) activities to eliminate the different types of wastes, as well as documenting the procedures.  
  • Developing appropriate corrective actions on identified problems.
  • Assist Program Directors in achieving and maintaining accreditation of their programs
  • Support integrating academic processes (university-, school-, and program-level) with ASRP system.
  • Works closely with the ASRP development unit to adopt academic processes, establishes correlation between academic processes and quality standards and supports programming quality standards into the ASRP system

Job Requirements

Education, Professional Knowledge & Experience  

  • The position requires a solid academic background in quality management. 
  • The manager should have PhD degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering or another field related to quality management. 
  • An established record in quality management is required either in practice (e.g., business or industry) or in postgraduate studies (diploma, M.Sc. or higher).
  • Knowledge of quality systems is mandatory; the main requirement is awareness of NAQAAE and ISO systems.
  • Experience and practice of project management is required. 
     

Language Skills:

  • Excellent command of English & Arabic

Computer Skills:

  • Familiarity with the different software/ applications / Systems as related to accreditation and certification processes 
  • Have the initiative to self-learn & development to stay updated regarding the latest technologies
