Job Description
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Airtable Developer & App Builder to join our team and help scale our internal tools and custom web applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building sophisticated applications using Airtable, along with expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This role is focused on transforming Airtable databases and workflows into scalable, user-friendly solutions and automating complex processes.
You will work on building and optimizing custom apps for inspections and reporting (such as lead-based paint inspections), automating internal processes, and integrating Airtable with other systems to provide seamless data management and reporting solutions for our team and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Airtable Development:
- Build, maintain, and optimize Airtable databases, including complex tables, relationships, and automations.
- Develop and customize Airtable views, forms, and reports to support internal teams and customer-facing operations.
- Implement Airtable API integrations with other tools and third-party platforms to automate workflows and data syncing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Airtable data models, views, and automations.
Frontend Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript):
- Build and maintain lightweight, user-friendly web applications and dashboards using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop custom forms, tables, and reports that integrate with Airtable data.
- Ensure smooth UI/UX by creating dynamic, responsive, and accessible interfaces for users interacting with your apps.
Automation & Workflows:
- Implement and maintain automations using Zapier, Integromat (Make), or custom scripts to integrate Airtable with external systems (email, CRM, reporting tools).
- Automate repetitive tasks (data syncing, report generation, notifications) to improve operational efficiency.
- Set up scheduled or triggered workflows (e.g., form submissions, data updates) and ensure they function smoothly across platforms.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to ensure app functionality meets business needs.
- Provide technical support and training for internal teams on how to use Airtable, custom web applications, and automation tools.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions on time and within budget.
Job Requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
Airtable: Advanced knowledge of Airtable, including:
- Building complex tables, views, forms, and relationships.
- Using Airtable’s API to integrate with other platforms and automate workflows.
- Developing and managing Airtable automations (triggers, actions, and conditions).
Frontend Development:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for building simple, custom web pages or components.
- Familiarity with front-end libraries like React.js or Vue.js is a plus.
- Experience with responsive design and ensuring cross-device compatibility.
Automation Tools: Experience with tools like Zapier, Integromat (Make), and/or custom scripts to integrate systems and automate business workflows.
Database Knowledge: A strong understanding of relational databases, schema design, and data integrity principles.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze workflows, and optimize data management processes.
Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working with Airtable as a primary database or tool for building custom apps and automation.
- Experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend web development.
- Experience in implementing API integrations with Airtable and other platforms.
- Background in building or managing inspection-based apps or tools, particularly for compliance reporting or data-heavy applications, is a plus.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with No-code/Low-code platforms like Glide, Webflow, or Bubble.
- Experience with other data automation tools (e.g., Parabola, Trello API, Google Sheets/Google Apps Script).
- Experience with mobile app development (native or hybrid) is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Trello, Asana, or Jira.
