Job Description
- Post journal entries accurately to tally balance sheets.
- Maintain records through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, compilation, coding and updating.
- Invoice verification & processing payment.
- Preparation of bank reconciliation statements on a monthly basis.
- Handling payroll.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the company’s petty cash operations through proper inspection and payments of bills, receipts & cash count.
- Check & book expenses and prepare monthly account reconciliations and examine supplier invoices for accuracy and issue cheques in time for accurate allocation of payments against invoices.
- Conduct month-end closing activities so that all current costs must be reflected as expenses of the current month.
- Follow up with customers for the pending payments, the reconciliation of customer accounts, and generating customer invoices.
- Review all the daily tour guides and supplier’s accounts.
- Review the cost for each tour.
- Forecast the P&L statement on a monthly and yearly basis.
- Price the new tours and update the existing ones.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of accounting experience, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel (advanced skills).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial records for multiple entities or business units.
- Previous experience in tourism industry’s financial operations, such as managing bookings, commissions, and payments to third-party vendors is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
- Proficiency in English (knowledge of additional languages is an advantage in the tourism industry).
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a dynamic tourism environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed, especially during peak tourism seasons.
