Job Description
- Overall responsibility for manufacturing activities across the business, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
- Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with company and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
- Assists the Executive Team with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
- Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
- Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
- Works with the Executive Team to develop the operating budget.
- Delivers progress and production reports to the executive.
- Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Comply with company policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Train and develop reportees through performance management and succession planning.
- Propose, prepare and execute initiatives to enhance profitability.
- Ensure to maximize production efficiency as well as optimize manpower usage.
- Facilitate and supervise new R&D project transition to manufacturing processes.
Requirements
Job Requirements
Relevant experience required
- At least ten years of experience in STEEL manufacturing and/or industrial management.
- Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing leadership delivering effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and systems
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
- Proven project management and build quality experience
- Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level
- Knowledge and technical understanding of steel manufacturing processes, components and manufacturing techniques
- A proven history of successful leadership
