Job Description
As a Data Engineering, you will play an integral role in enhancing our platform technical backbone. You will leverage your technical proficiency and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions for our database system, manage SQL tasks, and ensure optimal database performance. Your expertise in data engineering, including data wrangling, ETL processes, and Python scripting, will be key in driving the continuous improvement of our Library System. Responsibilities:
- Deliver superior technical support and problem resolution related to our platform.
- Manage and optimize database performance, including SQL Management tasks and ODBC/JDBC connections.
- Implement data structures, relations, and key protocols in our Library System.
- Engage in continuous learning of new structured data standards, like MARC21. Dublin Core, RDA, FRBR and linked data.
- Conduct thorough data analysis for quality assurance, ensuring adherence to set standards.
- Generate detailed data reports as per user requests.
- Evaluate the Library System's data structure for coherence, identify any discrepancies, and undertake corrective updates.
- Employ data engineering skills, including data wrangling, ETL processes, and Python scripting, to enhance the Library System's functionality.
- Foster clear communication with clients and team members for prompt resolution of issues.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Experience of 5 years in similar positions and duties.
- Demonstrable experience with RDBMS and SQL language, including management tasks.
- Familiarity with ODBC and JDBC connections.
- Proficiency in data engineering, including data wrangling, ETL, and Python scripting.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new structured data standards.
- Strong data analysis and quality assurance skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to function in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively.
- Demonstrable customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
