Job Description
Flow Cytometry Technologist is responsible for accurate data analysis, data entry and reporting of results for leukemia/lymphoma immunophenotyping and Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) assays.
- Accurately performs flow cytometry gating analysis for leukemia/lymphoma & paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria as described by the Standard Operating Procedure Manual, and maintains acceptable quality
- Demonstrates understanding of disease entities and their common and uncommon immunophenotypic presentations in order to provide an optimal preliminary diagnosis.
- Orders repeats or additional testing for flow cytometry as described by the Standard Operating Procedure Manual.
- Performs various clerical functions pertinent to the completion of a technical task.
- Participates in CAP and New York State proficiency testing program.
- Engages in activities which promote professional growth. Attends continuing education meetings and makes suggestions for quality improvements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Flow Cytometry supervisor and/or Flow Cytometry director.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in a science or healthcare related field (medicine, pharmacy, biological sciences, dentistry, etc.).
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Excellent digital computer skills.
