Job Description
The Math LDD Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering targeted interventions for students with mathematics learning difficulties and disabilities (such as dyscalculia). The specialist works collaboratively with classroom teachers, special educators, parents, and school leadership to ensure that students with math-related challenges receive tailored support that enhances their understanding, skills, and confidence.
Job Requirements
- Design and implement structured, multisensory, evidence-based math interventions.
- Use differentiated instruction, manipulatives, and visual strategies to teach mathematical concepts.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support sessions.
- Work with classroom teachers to adapt math curricula and teaching strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to teachers and staff on best practices for supporting students with dyscalculia and math learning challenges.
- Communicate progress and strategies to parents and caregivers.
- Track students’ progress through regular formative assessments.
- Adjust intervention plans as needed to ensure measurable progress.
