Job Description
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Provide expert advice and counseling to patients regarding medication usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy and dosage.
- Maintain up-to-date patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Monitor inventory levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage stock rotation to prevent shortages or expired products.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management.
- Conduct medication therapy management and provide immunization services as required.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to all safety, cleanliness, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay informed about new drugs and industry advancements.
- Assist in training and supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Valid pharmacist license in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with exposure to both community and clinical environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient counseling.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in dispensing medications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and related technology.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, drug interactions, and safety protocols.
