Job Description

Project Management (Planning & Implementation):

  • Supervise the adequate planning of all project activities and ensure that this planning is followed up and
    regularly updated and provide adjustments, when necessary,
  • Supervise the implementation and the monitoring of project activities (including project administration, procurement, and maintenance of supplies) through an adequate support and supervision of the teams and regular field visits,
  • Conduct assessments as required, whether as a stand-alone piece of work, or as part of a larger TDH assessment or during the process of developing project proposals,
  • Provide technical support and guidance to her/his team, to ensure an excellent level of quality of the projects
    implemented, compliant with international standards
  • Ensure mainstreaming of TDH’s Child Safeguarding policy and systemic integration of MHPSS in all the
    program cycle; with support of TDH CP advisor and MHPSS advisor.
  • Ensure TDH’s policies and procedures are being adhered to improve programme operational efficiency.
  • In close coordination with the Head of Programmes, develop the project strategy in line with the TDH strategic priorities,
  • In close collaboration with the Support Departments, ensure the correct financial management of projects.
  • Ensure proper project budget management (planning and regularly monitoring), based on cost efficiency
    and timely bound criteria. Budget holder position.

Project/Program Quality and development:

  • Ensure the technical quality of the approaches and projects implemented, as well as the capacity building of the technical skills of Tdh staff and partners,
  • Plan and conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual program review meetings to assess progress, adjust plans and draw/disseminate lessons learnt, using TDH tools and SOPs (e.g.FTM, PFU)
  • Oversee the proper monitoring of project’s impact and assess each activity in terms of contribution to expected outcomes,
  • Ensure accurate monitoring & evaluation plans for the different project components, developing additional monitoring & evaluation tools as necessary to monitor project progress, with support of MEAL unit.
  • In close coordination with the Head of Programmes, participates in Programmme development, proposal
    writing and partnership building.


Reporting:

  • Ensure developing timely and quality technical and financial reports as per the project donor’s requirements against agreed indicators,
  • Supervise the preparation of narrative and statistical reports for donors (UNHCR) as measured by expected outcomes and indicators, in a timely manner, as well as concept note and proposal for projects development,
     

Internal Coordination:

  • Report to the Head of Programmes; solicit advice and feedback and work with the technical advisors’ teams during Project design, advocacy message development, lessons learned documentation, and MEAL planning,
  • Maintain close communication and coordination with the support services team, the communication officer, and the Protection technical advisor.
     

External

  • Under the supervision of the Head of Programmes, represent and develop relationships of TDH locally to partners, donors, NGOs, international organizations, and local authorities, with adequate information feedback to Head of Programmes.

Team Management:

  • Ensure that daily technical support and punctual trainings are provided to develop and strengthen the technical skills of the project team,
  • Promote effective team work daily, with a particular focus on cross-cutting issues and themes,
  • Ensure the coaching of any collaborator under her/his responsibility, from the recruitment to the final collaboration reports,
  • Implement good management practices so that her/his management attitude respects the values of TDH,
  • Evaluate the staff under her/his direct responsibility on a regular basis and share evaluations and recommendations to the Head of Programmes,
  • Encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout TDH, communicate these values to staff and to partners.

Job Requirements

Education / Qualifications
Education:-

  • Bachelor and preferably master’s degree in social sciences or any related field.
     

Experience:-

  • 5 –7 years of experience in the field of Migration, community, and youth empowerment
  • Experience of INGO project management in the field is mandatory
  • Previous relevant experience and extensive knowledge of project design and experience in project development (strong knowledge and skills in M&E is important)
  • Strong experience in developing strategies as well as local partnerships.
  • Large experience of major institutional donors (UNICEF, UNHCR, SDC, EU, etc.) and significant projects.
  • Experience with budgets and budgeting.

Languages:-

  • Fluent in English commands
     

Computer skills:-

  • Experienced in MS Office package
