Corporate Affairs & Communication Manager


What this position is about - Purpose:


Manage and deliver internal & external communications plans, including media and public relations, corporate publications, events, and community investment (CSR) projects. Work with media outlets to publish timely company information. Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization's strategic vision. Relationship management with Governmental and non-governmental entities.


Influence employees' attitudes and engagement effectively through communicating and embedding the organization’s purpose, values, core behaviors, and business priorities to cultivate a sense of community and foster a culture that supports and drives behaviors aligned with JTI's strategy and vision. 


What will you do - Responsibilities: 


  • Position JTI internally and externally as a reputable company with a Japanese heritage through the development of a comprehensive communications strategy and its timely execution in alignment with the allocated budget and KPIs
  • Position JTI as a socially responsible company through the management of its community investment program. Directly engage with organizations to assess and execute JTI's Community Investment projects and increase the visibility of JTI's contribution to the community in the media and social media platforms
  • Ensure regular stakeholder management with government and non-government entities. Prepare, track, and log "Government & Media Affairs" engagement material, activities, and documentation of all communication material with JTI's external partners and governmental entities
  • Develop and execute GM  communication plan and messages (speeches, letters, video messages, etc.)
  • Content generation for business updates, speech writing, press releases, and production of a portfolio of in-house publications such as Monthly Reports, Newsletters, and JTI social media platforms
  • Coach teams of different departments in implementing the appropriate application of the JTI guidelines and manage third-party suppliers, design agencies, and print houses to align with the JTI Brand.
  • Manage JTI Egypt’s Communications initiatives and localize global campaigns to effectively engage  JTI Egypt employees
  • Manage and organize company events including round-table discussions, media tours, and press conferences including the development of press kits
  • Assist the Head of Function in attending meetings with stakeholders, updating & monitoring regulatory developments. Preparing business correspondence with government entities and external stakeholders
  • Prepare CA&C presentations including economic, political, excise, and regulatory updates  for the management team, region, and government entities
  • Manage JTI's communications agency including maintaining JTI's media distribution lists and business’s media monitoring service on a daily and quarterly basis

Who are we looking for - Requirements: 


  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in business or international relations or political science communications
  • Plus 5 years of experience in government/corporate affairs and public policy
  • Fluency in verbal and written Arabic & English
  • Ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Strategic and creative mindset
  • Highly computer literate with experience in related business, design & communication tools
  • Excellent project management skills. Knowledge of tobacco regulations, external relations, and knowledge of the tobacco industry and regulatory environment is a plus
