Job Description
- Create moodboards and sketches for schematic design
- Designs furniture for manufacturing, according to the knowledge of design trends, offerings of competition, production costs, the capability of production facilities, and characteristics of company's market: Confers with production, design, and sales personnel to obtain design suggestions and customer orders.
- Prepares and directs preparation of blueprints containing manufacturing specifications, such as dimensions, kind of wood, and upholstery fabrics to be used in manufacturing.
- Plan modifications for completed furniture to conform to changes in design trends and increase customer acceptance.
- Oversee construction of models or prototypes and participate in finish and fabric selection
- Design furniture and produce clear coherent shop drawings viable for manufacturing
- Produce shop drawings for projects (loose and fixed furniture)
- Site visits to retail/project clients in order to produce shop drawings and furniture layouts
- Edit and oversee drawing amendments when necessary
- Stay updated with competition (design, trends and market demand)
- Manage showroom styling and interior design
- Consult with management, design team, marketing, and sales new design ideas and suggestions
Job Requirements
- BA in product design, applied arts, or interior design.
- Extensive home and furniture experience.
- Professional skillset on Design process and CAD tools (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
- Innovation & creativity skills (art direction, graphics, products curating, trend forecasting)
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong visual awareness and an eye for detail
- Have good drawing skills.
- Be inventive and imaginative
- Be passionate about furniture.
- AutoCAD and 3d max Proficiency
- Willingness to travel to oversee prototyping at our factory
