Job Description
Book Keeping and Accounts
- Managing financial documents pertaining to import processes.
- Provide financial technical support to ensure books of accounts and records are properly maintained.
- Maintain books of accounts using the recommended computerized accounting system and provide technical support in implementation.
Financial Reporting and Audit
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with the applied Standard Accounting Principles.
- Ensure monthly reports needed are properly done and submitted to the relevant departments within the organization on a timely basis.
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to Top Management and recommending further courses of action.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
Internal Controls
- Establish Finance, Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Administer implementation of the Financial & Accounting Policies & Procedures of the organization.
- Monitoring internal financial and administrative controls.
- Ensure that monthly bank reconciliations are done on time.
Funds Management
- Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
- Use hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company's borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions
- Maintain banking relationships
- Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure
- Arrange for equity and debt financing
- Recommend appropriate dividend issuances, based on historical dividend patterns and expected cash flows
Budgeting
- Oversee preparation and implementation of budgets.
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
Costing
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Ensure Fixed Assets Register is maintained by all programs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- CMA
- Knowledge of trial balance, budget, cash flows statement and other accounting statements
- Knowledge of taxes and insurance laws
- Knowledge of Accounts tree, establishing companies’ contracts, general assembly and equity capital
- Knowledge of electronic spreadsheet
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience
