Job Description
- Lead the mechanical design process for large-scale infrastructure and building projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Develop detailed mechanical system layouts, schematics, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers, to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Oversee the preparation and review of technical drawings, calculations, and documentation for tender and construction phases.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design implementation and resolve technical issues during construction.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials, equipment, and technologies to optimize system performance and sustainability.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff, fostering knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and technical workshops to communicate design concepts and progress.
- Ensure all mechanical designs adhere to local and international codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Support value engineering initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years and up to 9 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the building services or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in leading mechanical design for complex projects from concept through to construction.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design and integration.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local and international mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work onsite (office-based) as required by project demands.
